Pittsburgh DSA has currently endorsed two campaigns! Both will be wrapping up during the May 20, 2025 primary.
We have joined the Our Water Campaign, a coalition of organizations who are asking voters to support Referendum #2 this May 20, 2025 in the primary. Referendum #2 would add this language to the Home Rule Charter, which would prevent our water from being privatized. Voters from any party will see this on their ballot.
Shall the Pittsburgh Home Rule Charter be amended and supplemented by adding a new Article 11: RIGHT TO PUBLIC OWNERSHIP OF POTABLE WATER SYSTEMS, WASTEWATER SYSTEM, AND STORM SEWER SYSTEMS, which restricts the lease and/or sale of the City’s water and sewer system to private entities?”
We have also endorsed Daeja Baker for Shaler Area School Board. We are excited to work to get Daeja elected, a strong advocate for her community who always keeps socialist ideals in mind.
Pittsburgh DSA will be leading two canvassing events. Anyone can join us in the Shaler area to knock doors and let neighbors know about Daeja. We will have a brief training at the start to give you talking points and literature so you feel confident and prepared.
